UCD rowers take senior cups at Colours Boat Races

The senior cups at the annual Colours Boat Races has been won by the Ladies and Mens rowers at University College Dublin.
Repeating their 2022 triumph, the UCD Ladies Boat Club senior crew successfully defended the Corcoran Cup from race rivals the Trinity Ladies Rowing.
The winning UCD crew was made up:
- Orla Kelly (Coxswain, Vice Captain);
- Alison Daly (Stroke);
- Sarah Daly;
- Dervila O’Brien;
- Ellie Scott (Captain);
- Aisling Barry;
- Lauryn Roche;
- Niamh Campbell;
- Tara Phelan (Bow).
The crew was coached by Tom Sullivan.

In the men’s senior race, the UCD’s mens crew also retained their 2022 title against the Dublin University Boat Club - claiming the Gannon Cup for a second year in a row.
The UCD Senior Mens:
- Shauna Fitzsimons (Captain) (Coxswain, Captain);
- Fintan Earley (Stroke);
- Sam Daly;
- David Somers;
- Paul Flood;
- Luke Dunleavy;
- Mika Ryan;
- Mikey Campion;
- David Crooks (Bow).
The crew was coached by Martin Feeley, Niall Farrell and Joe Ronaldson.
The Colours are based on the famous Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge, and take place across two kilometres. between O’Connell Bridge to James’ Gate.
The Novice men and women compete for the Dan Quinn Shield and the Sally Moorhead Trophy respectively, while their Senior counterparts race for the Gannon and Corcoran Cups.
