Across the University, 18 subjects increased their ranking and 19 stayed within the same band as last year.
Commenting on the publication of these subject rankings, the President of UCD, Professor Andrew Deeks said:
“The improved performance is partially a reflection of our strength in the area of employability, where we are ranked 74th in the world and number 1 in Ireland.
It also reflects the quality of our research and scholarship, which is represented in the level of citations and H-index scores. And I would like to pay tribute to our faculty who continue to excel not just here in Ireland but in the international arena.”
To compile these rankings QS uses four criteria: academic survey, employer survey, citations per published paper in peer reviewed, and a H-index that is based on the set of most cited papers.
For 2019, QS ranked 1,222 universities.
