UCD professor appointed editor-in-chief of new international journal
Professor Da-Wen Sun, UCD School of Agriculture, Food Science & Veterinary Medicine, is the newly appointed editor-in-chief of the international peer reviewed journal “Food and Bioprocess Technology.” This new journal, published by Springer, is available in print and online.
Food and Bioprocess Technology journal
The journal publishes experimental or theoretical research findings that have potentials for the agri-food industry to improve process efficiency, enhance product quality and extend shelf-life of fresh and processed agri-food products. It also includes critical reviews on new perspectives to established processes, innovative and emerging technologies, and trends and future research in food and bioproducts processing. Letters to the editor discuss recent developments in the field and book reviews highlight recent books published.
“Food and Bioprocess Technology promises to be an effective and timely platform for researchers to publish original papers relating to the engineering and science of food processing technologies,” said Professor Sun.
Professor Sun has published 150 peer reviewed journal papers, more than 200 conference papers, and edited seven books. In recognition of his significant contribution to food engineering worldwide and for his outstanding leadership in the field, Professor Sun has received numerous international awards. In 2000, and again in 2006, he was awarded the CIGR Merit Award by the International Commission of Agricultural Engineering, and in 2004 he was awarded the Food Engineer of the Year Award by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
