Bank of Ireland sponsors UCD Quinn School of Business "Community Engagement Awards”.
Bank of Ireland will sponsor the UCD Quinn School of Business’ Community Engagement Award for the next three years.
UCD Quinn School of Business values and encourages students to engage in extra-curricular activities that benefit the wider community. Such work is viewed by UCD Quinn School as a vital part of a business education. This award is one of a number of activities by which the School, through the Centre for Community Engagement & Service Learning, supports community engagement and volunteering.

In today’s business environment, more and more employers recognise the need for employing rounded and multi-skilled individuals who are actively engaged in the broader society in which they live and work.
The purpose of the “Community Engagement Award” in UCD Quinn School of Business is to:
- To recognise those students who have an on-going engagement in community life and volunteering
- To encourage those students not presently engaged in such activities to consider volunteering and community engagement as a vital part of their college education
- To reward students’ recent contributions to community life
What are the “Community Engagement Awards?”
- Dean’s Community Engagement Award, which entails a cash prize of €1500 and two runner-up awards—€500 each.
- Community organisations in which award winning students are /were involved will each receive a cash award of €500.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Dr. Martin Butler, Director, UCD Quinn School of Business said, “UCD Quinn School is delighted to receive sponsorship from Bank of Ireland for this initiative. At UCD Quinn School, we want to produce rounded individuals and foster a sense of citizenship and volunteering.
