McAleese on 27

The book is a festschrift written by Brian's friends and former students, which addresses the three main areas of his work: the origins and sources
of the Irish political system and Irish political culture; political institutions and governance; and political communication. Essays include
'The Role of Taoiseach: Chairman or Chief?' by Dr Garret FitzGerald, 'The Office of the Ombudsman in Ireland' by Michael Mills and 'The
Parliamentary Lobby System' by Stephen Collins, Political Editor, Sunday Tribune.
The book was edited by Brian Farrell's former UCD colleagues, Professor Tom Garvin, Dr Maurice Manning and Professor Richard Sinnott and published
by UCD Press.
