World InterUniversity Games 2006

9th – 13th October 2006
The 2006 World Interuniversity Games are taking place at UCD from 9 to 13 October. The games are open to all Universities and Colleges worldwide and selection is made based upon geographical and historic (results) parameters.
Over 80 University teams from Latin America, the United States, the Russian Federation, Iran, Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe will compete in the 8th World Interuniversity Games.
The IFIUS (International Federation for Interuniversity Sport) staff, together with 60 referees, 15 arbitration and control commission members and 120 stewards from University College Dublin and Dublin City University are ensuring the best possible environment for the games.
Men's Football (Soccer), Women's Football (Soccer), Men's Volleyball, Men's Basketbal, Men's Futsal (Indoor Soccer) and a trial tournament Women's Volleyball will all feature in the 2006 World Interuniversity Games..
