UCD SPHPSS faculty are leaders in the Public Health Discipline, supporting the national response to Covid-19 in Ireland
(opens in a new window)Prof Mary Codd and (opens in a new window)Prof Pat Wall have been running the largest Covid-19 contact tracing centre nationally since mid March at UCD Science Centre.
Over 350 volunteers, occupational and public health personnel have been trained to carry out contract tracing since 17th March.
At the peak, over 100 staff and student volunteers were engaged in routine and complex contact tracing 7 days/ week.

Immense support has been provided from SPHPSS volunteers. Our administrators and faculty from Dietetics, Occupational Safety, Physiotherapy, Public Health and Sport Sciences; Postdoctoral Researchers; Clinical Tutors; PhD and Masters students have stepped up to the challenge and played their part in flattening the curve.
