Academic Programme
The UCD Ad Astra Academy Academic scholarship is a leadership programme available to motivated students who can demonstrate high intellectual achievement, who want to reach further through undertaking a challenging university programme and develop their leadership skillset. This scholarship is only available to students who have completed the Irish Leaving Certificate, the GCE Advanced (A-Level) Examinations or the International Baccalaureate within the island of Ireland in their first sitting.
Each year, the UCD Ad Astra Academic scholarship offers up to 15 places to students who are joining UCD straight from their leaving certificate, GCE Advanced (A-Level) or or the International Baccalaureate. Up to 18 additional academic scholarships are available for students entering stage two of their programme. All UCD students are eligible for these stage two scholarships.
Scholars in the Ad Astra Academic programme will have the support of a dedicated mentor who will have a close knowledge of their academic commitments and will provide guidance on how best to develop their potential. Through a series of seminars and workshops in areas such as leadership, emotional intelligence and careers, scholars will learn to make the most of their opportunities within the University and develop skills that will allow them to excel in their chosen careers.
The Academy provides a supportive environment where the scholars are encouraged to develop their abilities to their full potential during their time with us.
