Rankings and Accreditations

UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science and UCD as a University participates in a number of global university rankings. 

The rankings are based on 12 indicators used for the QS European University Rankings, up from nine in the QS World University Rankings, namely: Academic Reputation, Citations per Paper, Employer Reputation, Employment Outcomes, Faculty Student Ratio, International Faculty, International Students, International Research Network, Inbound Exchange Students, Outbound Exchange Students, Papers per Faculty, and Sustainability.

Agriculture Science in UCD is ranked:

Agriculture and Forestry are ranked in the Top 100, #64 in the QS world subject rankings. 

UCD is ranked 126 in the QS World University Rankings 2025 edition.  

QS has placed UCD in the top 9% of the institutions ranked (worldwide).

Study at the School of Agriculture and Food Science: 

Ranked first in Ireland and 49th in the world, the latest QS sustainability rankings puts UCD among the world’s best for environmental and social impact.

It is the only Irish university to make it into the top 100 of the global ranking. And it is also ranked 28th in Europe among the 556 European institutions featured.

UCD is ranked joint 50th in the world in the QS Sustainability Ranking 2024. This ranking was introduced by QS in 2023 to provide a framework to show how universities are taking action to tackle the world's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) challenges. QS ranked 1,403 institutions globally.

This ranking consists of three separate ranks - an Environmental Impact Rank, a Social Impact Rank and (new in 2024) a Governance Rank. The first twi ranks contain a number of performance lenses, with UCD's performance in each detailed below.
