McCarrick Graduate Research Scholarship- Call now open

Background
UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science is delighted to announce the launch of the Graduate Research Scholarship in memory of Dr Roger McCarrick. This funding is intended to enable three outstanding graduates of UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science to pursue a PhD in the University.
Who are these scholarships for?
We are seeking excellent students to participate in the PhD programme in the UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science. The expected start date is September 2023.
This is an internal funding scheme. Applicants must be:
- Currently enrolled as a final year undergraduate in UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science or
- Currently enrolled as a Master’s student in UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science or
- A graduate of UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science
Scholarship details
The PhD scholarship funding is €27,500 per annum which includes University fees of up to a maximum of €6,000 per annum, student stipend and eligible direct research expenses to enable the awardee to carry out the research project and will provide support for a period of 4 years.

How to apply?
Step 1- Identify a supervisor
Applicants must contact a potential supervisor in UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science, to discuss their research plans.
Step 2- Complete and submit the application - McCarrick_Award_Application_Form
