UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science graduate Stephen Robb has joined the team of RTE’s hit farming and rural affairs show, Ear to the Ground.
Having grown up on the family farm at Drumbuoy, Stephen has plenty of experience to bring to the Ear To The Ground team for Series 32.
Robb is an active farmer on a tillage farm in Newtowncunningham and will partner with returning presenters Darragh McCullough and Ella McSweeney in the new series premiering on Thursday 31st October.
With a degree in Agribusiness Management from UCD and a Masters in Agricultural Innovation, Stephen has particular knowledge of everything to do with bioenergy.
For the last seven years, he has also worked as a journalist with the Irish Farmers Journal, where he primarily writes on renewable energy. In addition to his print work, Robb is a frequent expert contributor to radio and television.
Ear To The Ground deals with the big issues of the day – as they relate to farming and rural life – from climate change to succession, from farmer protests to water quality, from derogation to TB Eradication. Stephen’s first episode of Ear to the Ground will be focusing on fodder. The segment will see him spending the day with a truck driver delivering animal feed to farms in Tipperary to gauge how farmers there are preparing for what may be a long winter.
