The School of Agriculture and Food Science were delighted to be back in Ratheniska, Co Laois for the 93rd National Ploughing Championships.
The School had a large stand at the event and with just under 250,000 attending this years event over three days, it was a fantastic, busy week with everyone in great spirits helped by the incredible weather throughout.
AgriAware, Protein-I and the Amgen Biotech Experience participated in the School’s exhibit this year providing exciting interactive stations for visitors to the tent and we were delighted to welcome colleagues from Microcredentials and Gaeltacht UCD throughout the week.
Student, alumni and staff panel discussions took place each day crowds filling in to hear about studying Ag Science and student life in UCD, our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and the exciting research and agri developments for UCD.

Also joining us included Irish Farmers Journal Sarah McIntosh, Agri Aware Executive Director Marcus O'Halloran, MSD's Jack O'Connor, Una Sinnott, Shauna Jager from Bord Bia, BOI and ASA President Susan Maher as well as outgoing ASA President Niamh Bambrick, UCD Ag Soc Auditor and Career Chair Maeve Cooper and Emily Cassells, IFAC's Noreen Lacey and Sophie O'Sullivan and sports star Daire Cregg.
