- Proud day at UCD Awards Day
Last Friday (7th March), we were delighted to celebrated with students, their parents and guests at the UCD Award's Day. It is a very special day in the UCD calendar where students are rewarded for their exceptional academic and musical achievement and celebrated for their outstanding contribution to campus life.
This year, President Orla Feely presented the honours at O’Reilly Hall celebrating individuals whose efforts have enriched the campus community.
The School of Agriculture and Food Science was honoured that 11 students received stage 2, 3 and 4 academic scholarships across the BAgSc programmes. 5 students received academic scholarship from Human Nutrition and Food Science.
2nd year Food Science student, Elizabeth Michael received a Choral Scholarship with Bilal Egeh and Sadam Mohamed receiving Cthram na Féinne scholarships and Alexa Garbiel, Yingjie Guo, Sonika Joshi and Samantha Smith all receiving Global Excellence Scholarships.
Finally the UCD President’s Awards was warded to recognise students who have made outstanding contributions across clubs, societies, governance, and broader university life.
We were delighted that Dairy Business graduate, Daire Cregg received the scholarship from the school of agriculture and food science.
Daire is a leader in UCD GAA; a former sports scholar and now graduate sports scholar as he continues his studies in Smurfit Business School. He Captained the UCD Sigerson team and is Co-Captain of the Roscommon Senior Men's Football team. Excelling academically and athletically, a truly deserving recipient of the award.
Daire received the award alongside 19 other wonderful students who have contributed to student life across UCD.
