Welcome to UCD International Pathway Programmes
UCD offers a range of Pathway programmes designed to offer our students the best preparation for undertaking their degree studies at Ireland's Global University
Our International Pre-Master’s Programmes offer students the best way to prepare for their world class UCD Master’s degree. These programmes provide the opportunity to attend Master's specific preparatory courses with each student attending academic modules relevant to their chosen UCD Master’s as well as modules on thesis preparation, Irish culture and creative thinking.
Students will also receive English language tuition on campus from UCD’s Centre for English and Global Languages staff. Our specially designed academic English programme will allow students to gain the English language proficiency and study techniques needed to successfully undertake their graduate studies in UCD.
International Pre-Master's Pathway Programme
Our International Pre-Master's Pathway Programme is designed to prepare students to successfully undertake their graduate studies in UCD. Students who wish to undertake a Master's degree in UCD must meet the academic entry requirements of their chosen course. If however, they do not meet the English language requirements, they can avail of the International Pre-Master's Pathway Programme. Through the programme’s range of Academic English, subject specific and elective modules, students will receive the best preparation for getting the most from their graduate studies while maximising their time in UCD. Students successfully completing the International Pre-Master’s Pathway Programme will automatically progress to their graduate studies in UCD.
Global Engagement Master's Partnership Pathway
Our Global Engagement Master's Partnership Pathway is for students from our many partner institutions. Through this Partnership, students will complete the final year or final term of their undergraduate degree in UCD while also preparing for their UCD postgraduate degree. Along with dynamic and engaging English language modules, students will take undergraduate modules in their chosen field and elective cultural, creative thinking and study skills modules.
Pre-Sessional English for Academic Purposes Programme
The Pre-Sessional EAP Programme is the International Pathway Programme for students who hold a conditional offer for their desired UCD undergraduate or postgraduate course. Two Pre-Sessional EAP Programmes are available, 10 Week and 7 Week programmes, both of which take place in the Summer. Our classes focus on a range of academic English topics through lectures, projects and presentations which will develop students' English language proficiency and classroom skills in preparation for studying at UCD. Students successfully completing their Pre-Sessional Programme progress to their UCD degree in September.
