Work Package 1 (Microalgae Bioremediation of Brewery Waste)
In the WP1the successful use of microalgal growth to bioremediate different brewery waste streams will be studied to produce EPA-rich biomass. In this activity, the algal cultures of different microalgaespecies will recover nutrients from waste streams. The assessment of nutrient recovery and biomass production from small (2mL) to high scale (more than 1000L) will be insured and compared. The produced algal biomass will be used for the feed trials and biofertilizers tests (WP3 and 4). All obtained data will be collected for Environmental and socio-economic assessment (WP5).
