Work Package 5 (Environmental, Socio-economic Assessment)
This WP will assess the environmental impacts, economic viability, and social sustainability of microalgae grown on brewery waste products as an alternative feedstock for feed and fertilizer. Data from previous WPs will be collected directly to create models and inventory. A special emphasis will be placed on eliciting the resource efficiency, energy usage, and waste management performance of microalgae-based animal feed and fertilizer. The opportunities for improvement in the sustainable microalgae sector will be identified.
