To celebrate the last 20 years, UCD Conway Institute alumni joined current staff and students sharing stories of their career journeys and the impact the Institute had on them. BAgrSc Class of 1983 Reunion – 23 September 2023

The BAgrSc Class of 1983 gathered for a day of celebrations and merriment at the Curragh Racecourse in Kildare. The reunion consisted of a day at the races with a luncheon in a private suite. 47 attendees reconnected and reminisced on the day, with attendees travelling from Germany, the UK and all over Ireland.

BE Class of 1973 Reunion – 8 September 2023

On 8 September 2023, over 50 alumni from the UCD Engineering Class of 1973 celebrated their 50th anniversary since their graduation. Joined by around 30 spouses, the group had a fantastic evening in the Grand Hotel Malahide, preceded by a golf tournament.

UCD alumni were delighted to reconnect at the Grand Hyatt in Beijing. This wonderful get-together marked the occasion of the BDIC graduation ceremony in China and was attended by a number of UCD staff members including Professor Dolores O'Riordan, Vice-President for Global Engagement.

UCD Festival 2023 – 10 June 2023

The annual UCD Festival is a fun-filled day showcasing the very best of UCD through performances, engaging talks, hands-on science, interactive exhibits and so much more. On Saturday, 10 June, we opened our doors to friends and families of our local community, staff, students and alumni, providing an opportunity to see behind the scenes, discover something new and meet our students and world-class academics.

The theme of International Women's Day 2023 was 'Embrace Equity'. To celebrate, Dr Joe McGrath hosted a conversation between Dr Lydia Foy and her lawyer, Bill Shipsey (UCD Alumni Awardee) on the legal challenges to the law on gender recognition in Ireland.

We were delighted to welcome the Class of 2020 back to campus for their Celebration Reunion. Comedian and UCD alumnus Fred Cooke kicked off the celebration in O’Reilly Hall by congratulating the class on all of their accomplishments, while class speaker Grace Oladipo inspired her classmates to not be afraid to dive head first into the future.

Minnesota-based alumni were delighted to attend a picnic to celebrate the return of the UCD Festival. The gathering took place at Boom Island Park, with the scenic Mississippi River and the Minneapolis skyline in the backdrop.
