The growing research impact of APEP; a global leader in UCD
Tuesday, 28 January, 2020
The School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy is now placed 4 th of UCD’s 36 Schools in terms of Citation Impact. With APEP gaining a Field-Weighted Citation Impact Score of 2.35, based on 5-year average; this means the School’s research has been cited 135% more than world average of 1.00 in its field for similar publications.
As Head of School, Eoin O’Neill commented “although an incomplete metric, it does provide an important comparative measure of the quality of our research as recognized by our academic peers through citations. It is important to highlight this impressive performance by the Schools research community and the upward trajectory achieved over the last number of years”.
This level of global performance will also help us to attract and retain the best staff and attract top
doctoral and post-doctoral candidates, for which we have a number of vacancies created through recent funding awards.
To further develop our research profile, the School is also intensifying its engagement with EU academics with a new Visiting Speaker Series to develop additional networks and build upon recent successes winning prestigious research funding as part of pan-European consortia.
