ERASMUS & Non-EU Exchange Opportunities
Every year, more than 70% of students from the School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy avail of the opportunity to study for a semester in one of our partner schools in Asia, Australia, the US, but mostly in Europe.
The school has a strong and well-established reputation internationally. The programme has been very active at the international level, with an extensive Erasmus and International network of strong schools and regular visiting lecturers, critics and external examiners. Students whose time abroad is GPA neutral will be awarded the credits subject to them passing all courses at the host institution.
UCD Global has developed a series of video information sessions for current UCD students interested in going on Exchange overseas on their website here.
At UCD Architecture, BArchSc Stage 4 students choose to spend either a first or second semester in one of the many schools of architecture with which UCD has an exchange agreement. This provides them with an invaluable opportunity to experience architecture in a variety of cultural contexts. To be eligible, a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for students to be permitted to go on Erasmus/Exchange and students' GPA is calculated on the Spring Trimester of Stage 2 and Autumn Trimester of Stage 3.
CPEP students interested in studying abroad should have completed all modules from Stages 1 & 2. Undertaking Study Abroad will add an extra year to the duration of the programme for BSc City Planning & Environmental Policy students. They must transfer to the BSc City Planning & Environmental Policy (International) Degree after Stage 2 if they decide to go on Erasmus/Non-EU Exchange and this changes how their final Degree Award is calculated - Information available here.
Students should speak with UCD Global in the first instance who can advise on the various study abroad opportunities; where past students have studied and the application process and deadlines.
Students should speak with their Academic Exchange Coordinator for advice on module mapping only after the student has researched what courses to take at the host institution. They are;
