Delegations & Visits

In the course of 2018-2020, a number of Asia-Pacific research delegations visited UCD and meetings were hosted with representatives of APReN. These visits included: the UK, India, New Zealand, Lithuania and Japan.

In summer 2019 we received  a visit from Prof.Dr. Phạm Quang Minh, the former Rector of VNU University of Social Science and Humanities, and delegation. The visit was hosted by Christine Bonnin, the former VP Global Engagement Richard Collins, UCD Global, and included  a meeting with the CSSL Principal Colin Scott to discuss potential collaboration.

Profs. Mary Gallagher and Anne Fuchs (Director, Humanities Institute) visited and gave academic seminars in three national universities (Kumamoto, Kyoto and Tohoku) in Japan. The visits were arranged with the help of the UCD-JaSt.

Prof. Sandra Fahy (Sophia University, Tokyo) visited UCD and gave a lecture at the UCD SPIRe (February, 2019), and Profs. Ryo Ikeda (Tohoku University) and Aurelijus Zykas Director, Asian Studies, Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania) (April, 2019).

UCD–International Christian University (Tokyo, Japan) Symposium "The Role of Higher Education in a 'Globalizing' World" was held in November, 2019. The event was primarily funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as part of The Top Global University Project in Japan.
