Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Widening Participation is integrated into all aspects of UCD decision making, policy, strategy development and is a responsibility for everyone in the university community.

UCD School of Archaeology is committed to celebrating diversity within the community and promoting an environment where equality of opportunity is created for all. This page highlights information and initiatives on Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Widening Participation within the School.

The UCD School of Archaeology successfully obtained an Athena Swan Bronze renewal award in 2022, after being awarded the Bronze in 2019. We are currently working on our application for the Silver award. For more information about the Athena Swan awards, click here

We are also working on other aspects of equality, beyond gender, including reviewing aspects of our actions on inequality related to disability, race, age, religion and other factors. For information about Widening Participation in UCD see this link

We have a standing EDI/WP Committee in the School which can be contacted about any active issues. We also have an Athena Swan Silver Committee which would be interested in issues or suggestions for our next step in the gender equality framework represented by Athena Swan.

If you have any questions, suggestions or information about School policy, please contact the School EDI/WP officers (opens in a new window)Associate Professor Helen Lewis and (opens in a new window)Professor Tadhg O'Keeffe
