Biographical History

John F. Fitzgerald was both a land owner and property agent in the Barony of Iveragh, County Kerry. As an agent, he managed land owned by relatives of Daniel O’Connell, including his brother, Sir James O’Connell. 

Archival History

This collection was deposited in UCD Archives in March 2002 by Maire Ó Moráin, widow of Dinal Ó Moráin.

Scope and Content

The collection falls into these two broad categories and in the main contains documents relating to maintenance and rental issues. Included are rental sheets, property valuations, schedule for ejectments and manuscript maps. Also contained are wills and correspondence regarding the building of a bridge over the River Inny.
