New full-time appointment: Dr Róisín Kennedy
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Róisín Kennedy as full-time Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the School of Art History & Cultural Policy, starting in September 2019, following a competitive search. She has been a permanent half-time member of staff since 2014. Her teaching will focus on Irish art, modernism and contemporary art and on the history of museums and curating.
Róisín is former Yeats curator at the National Gallery of Ireland (2006-08). She completed an IRC funded Ph.D. at UCD in 2006. She is co-editor of Censoring Art. Silencing the Artwork, I.B. Tauris, 2018 and Harry Clarke and Artistic Visions of the New Irish State, Irish Academic Press, 2018. Her monograph on the reception of modernist art in Ireland is due to be published by Liverpool University Press in 2020. She is currently co-editing a new edition of Sources on Irish Art for Cork University Press.
