Visiting Professor: Dr Katherine A. Bussard, Princeton University Art Museum
The School of Art History & Cultural Policy is delighted to announce that (opens in a new window)Dr Katherine A. Bussard, Peter C. Bunnell Curator of Photography at the (opens in a new window)Princeton University Art Museum, will be a Visiting Professor to University College Dublin during Autumn 2021. Dr Bussard is an internationally renowned curator and scholar of photography, whose most recent exhibition and book (opens in a new window)Life Magazine and the Power of Photography(2020) was recently awarded the 2021 Alfred H. Barr Jr. Award, the highest award for an art historical catalogue in the United States. During her visit Dr Bussard will be pursuing new research on violence, migration, and photography, as well as post-1960s critical writing on contemporary photography. She will also meet with curatorial colleagues at the National Gallery of Ireland and Irish Museum of Modern Art; deliver a public lecture on her work; and collaborate on masterclasses in photographic curation with students as part of the UCD / IADT / NCAD Creative Futures Academy 2021 autumn programme.
