Module Outline

This module centres on a 12/14-week internship with a host (state body; charitable organization; arts or cultural organisation; or corporate body) and is supported by pre-placement workplace training. The purpose of the module is to enhance core skills, attitudes and competencies that are not only a fundamental feature of our students' degree programme, but are also portable and relevant to the workplace and important for active and engaged citizenship.  The internship requires students to train through continuous practice, personal organisational and communication skills (written and oral) and to develop an awareness of the intellectual, cultural, social and practical requirements of specific working environments. Furthermore, students are expected to reflect actively and critically on their skills and knowledge and to engage in the planning of their future learning and career pathway. Students will demonstrate the consolidation and enhancement of their learning by means of critical, reflective writing on their working experience.
