Dr Sarah Comyn and Dr Nicolas Pillai Celebrate University Teaching & Learning Excellence Awards
Congratulations to Dr Sarah Comyn and Dr Nicolas Pillai, School of English, Drama & Film, who both received a university-level UCD Teaching and Learning Excellence Awards.
The Teaching and Learning adjudicating panel commended Sarah for her commitment to teaching and enhancing the student experience by developing highly interactive approaches to learning and novel approaches to engage with students within the classroom. The techniques were described as well-evidenced and reflective of the university’s values and mission.
The adjudicating panel commended Nicolas for his innovative practice. They pointed out how, working in a creative field, he has embraced opportunities to maximise the creativity of his teaching and learning approaches to the benefit of his students. The panel also commended his use of the Trapdoor black-box theatre as a highlight of his application.
