"Our Blue World" screened in Trapdoor as part of Dublin International Film Festival
As part of the Dublin International Film Festival 2025, Our Blue World, a new documentary directed by Ruán Magan exploring humanity’s profound relationship with water, was shown in Trapdoor on Friday 28 February.
Magan’s documentary, narrated by Liam Neeson, paints portraits of some extraordinary individuals who are harnessing natural flows and creating a new, modern consciousness of water, based on ancestral wisdom. A sequel to the Brave Blue World (2020), this is a film of hope, showing how each one of us has the power to transform the planet for good.
The screening was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr Sarah Comyn (School of English, Drama & Film) featuring Ruán Magan (Director), Dr Deirdre Crowe (Water Museum of Ireland), Prof Tasman Crowe (UCD VP for Sustainability) and Dr Shane Mc Guinness (Project Co-coordinator of WaterLANDS).
