Prof. Sara Benedí Lahuerta (UCD), Ms Katharina Miller (Instituto de Empresa), and Prof. Laura Carlson (University of Stockholm).
This timely book critically examines pay transparency legislation (PTL) as a tool to address the gender pay gap, engaging with key issues in common law and EU legal frameworks. With five of its authors based in common law jurisdictions, the book includes dedicated chapters on Irish and UK law, as well as a horizontal chapter comparing UK to New Zealand’s legislation. It also features a comparative chapter focusing on the EU and 14 national jurisdictions, including Ireland and the UK. Additionally, the book explores the impact of the 2023 EU Pay Transparency Directive and the role of Equality Bodies, private certification systems, self-regulation, and collective bargaining in addressing pay inequity.
The event will feature a keynote address by (opens in a new window)Ms Ivana Bacik,TD, followed by a roundtable discussion with distinguished experts in labour law, sociology, and gender equality advocacy, including:
