Short Biography:
Prof. Harald Kittler is a dermatologist and researcher based in Vienna, Austria. He currently serves as a Professor at the Department of Dermatology at the Medical University of Vienna. Dr. Kittler has over 25 years of experience in the field of skin imaging and his main research focuses include dermatoscopy and dermatopathology.
Harald has made significant contributions to the field of artificial intelligence in dermatology, particularly in improving AI-based skin cancer diagnosis. Throughout his career, he has published numerous scientific articles and has over 20,000 citations of his work. In addition to his research and clinical work, Dr Kittler is involved in medical education and training. As a cofounder of the innovative online platform “Dermonaut,” he has significantly contributed to advancing dermatology training and education.

It highlights the importance of a comprehensive diagnostic approach that goes beyond dermatoscopy, incorporating base rates, probabilities, and broader contextual data for more informed decision-making.
