Keywords: Wound healing, Epidermolysis bullosa (EB), Stem cells, Hydrogels, DNA plasmid, Non-viral gene delivery vectors
Our research is focused on the development of functional biomaterials including polymers and hydrogels with the aim of improving therapeutic outcomes for EB, diabetic wounds, burn wounds & acute wounds, cartilage regeneration and neurodegenerative diseases.
Specifically, our current research includes:
- Mechanistic understanding of ATRP, RAFT and CU0-mediated RDRP
- Kinetically controlled (co)polymerization of MVMs
- Macromolecular design and engineering via RDRP techniques (ATRP, RAFT, CU0-mediated RDRP, ROP and anionic polymerisation) and click chemistry
- Multifunctional cyclized/knotted and branched polymers as gene delivery vectors
- Injectable extracellular matrix (ECM) biopolymer hybrid hydrogels for stem cells encapsulation and drug delivery
- Bio-inspired responsive polymers as tissue adhesives
