QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019
Six subject departments in University College Dublin rank among the world's best, according to the latest Global League Table.
UCD has had six departments listed in the top 50 in the lQS World University Rankings by Subject 2019. The Global League Table was published yesterday, the 27th of February and it's based on four measures including reputation among academics and employers and research citations.
The College of Health and Agricultural Sciences are delighted to have been ranked in the top 50 University listings in three subject areas. CHAS was ranked number 26 in Veterinary Science, number 44 in Nursing and number 50 in Sports related subjects.
The other three subject areas that ranked within the top 50 in UCD were Library and Information Management (number 38), English Language and Literature (number 49), and Engineering: Mineral & Mining (50).
According to the Global League Table, UCD is Ireland's most-represented institution, featuring in 39 of the tables, while Trinity is ranked in 34.
This year, in 2019, QS ranked 1,222 universities.
Commenting on the publication of these subject rankings, the President of UCD, Professor Andrew Deeks stated that “The improved performance is partially a reflection of our strength in the area of employability, where we are ranked 74th in the world and number 1 in Ireland."
