Lifeways Group 20th Anniversary
The College of Health and Agricultural Sciences were delighted to host a workshop to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Lifeways Group on Friday the 3rd of February 2023.
The Lifeways cross-generation cohort study was established in 2001 with funding from the Health Research Board. In February 2023 the last of our young people turns 20. We planned a half day event to mark the establishment of the study which is still going strong today.
The Workshop took place the afternoon of Friday, February 3rd, in the O'Brien Science Centre in UCD and consisted of three panels. The VP for Research, Innovation and Impact, Professor Orla Feely opened the event.

Panel 1 was chaired by Professor Fionnuala McAuliffe, UCD Full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, National Maternity Hospital. Professor Cecily Kelleher, College Principal, gave a 25 minute talk entitled:
'Influence of Maternal and Cross-Generation factors on Young People’s growth and development in the Health Research Board Lifeways Cohort of a Thousand Families in the Republic of Ireland'
Panel 2 was chaired by Professor Lorraine Brennan, UCD CHAS Vice Principal for Research, Innovation, and Impact.
Three presentations were given by Professor Fionnuala McAuliffe, Dr Celine Murrin, Assistant Professor, School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science and Dr Catherine Phillips, Assistant Professor, School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science.
Panel 3 was chaired by Dr Mairead O’Driscoll, Chief Executive Officer of the Health Research Board. This panel discussion comprised of Professor Cecily Kelleher, Professor Lorraine Brennan, Professor Fionnuala McAuliffe, Dr Catherine Phillips, and Dr Celine Murrin
