UCD Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering Student wins Young Engineers Talking Engineers Competition 2018
Friday, 31 August, 2018
Katie Kilcoyne, Final Year Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering student 2017-18, won the Young Engineers Talking Engineers Competition 2018, at the Engineers Ireland HQ on Clyde Road. Katie, representing UCD, spoke on the theme 'Engineering our Future'. She focussed on 'next generation' developments in pharma/biopharma manufacturing, drawing on commercial development and academic research activities within the School, including her own Final Year Research Project (conducted under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Damian Mooney) on 3D printing technologies.
In winning this year's Talking Engineers competition, open to final year Engineering students from 3rd-level institutions around the country, Katie followed in the footsteps of the 2017 winner, Khadija Mu'azzam (BE Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering, 2017).
Katie will graduate from UCD with a BE degree in Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering in 2018, joining Jacobs Engineering Group, at the company's Dublin offices.
