The CCIR Mission
At the Centre for Critical Infrastructure Research (CCIR), our mission is to advance the understanding and protection of critical infrastructure systems. Through innovation, research, collaboration, and knowledge dissemination, the CCIR addresses the evolving challenges and threats faced by key infrastructure networks, ensuring the functionality of societies worldwide.
The CCIR is committed to conducting interdisciplinary investigations that encompass the diverse domains of energy, transportation, water systems, and beyond. Its vision is to foster synergies between academia, industry, and regulatory bodies, to develop solutions, practice, and policy that enhances the critical infrastructure systems and makes them futureproof.
Through close engagement with stakeholders the CCIR seeks to bridge the gap between research and real-world implementation and by providing evidence-based insights, it empowers decision-makers to make informed choices that safeguard critical infrastructure from physical, cyber, and natural threats.
The CCIR vision is that a culture of collaboration and innovation, it will become a excellence-led hub for critical infrastructure research, driving positive change and making a lasting impact on the well-being of societies.
Research
With the aim of protecting critical infrastructure systems, the CCIR research explores three fundamental themes transversal to all Critical Infrastructure Research and tailored to create new insights that enhance the functionality of critical infrastructure in an holistic form in order to benefit societies in an integrated form:
- Resilient Infrastructure
- Sustainable Infrastructure
- Smart and Intelligent Infrastructure
