Abdollah Malekjafarian receiving the Bertram Broberg Memorial medal

Congratulations to our member of staff Dr. Abdollah Malekjafarian who received the "Bertram Broberg Memorial Medal" for "UCD's Best PhD in Mechanics- 2016" last week. This medal is awarded every year for the best PhD thesis in the College of Engineering, Mathematical and Physical Sciences (EMPS) at UCD. Abdollah obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering at UCD in 2016 under supervision of Prof. Eugene OBrien. His thesis was focused on "Drive-by bridge health monitoring using the response measured on a passing vehicle". He is currently an Assistant Professor in UCD Civil Engineering and his main areas of research interest are Structural Dynamics and Random Vibrations for Civil Infrastructure including "Transport Infrastructure" and "Offshore Wind Turbines”.
