Dr. Budi Zhao wins Early Career Award

Dr Budi Zhao, Assistant Professor at UCD School of Civil Engineering, received an Early Career Award at the 75th Géotechnique Anniversary in the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE), London. His collaborative paper with esteemed colleagues focused on revealing the micro-mechanisms behind the breakage of individual sand particles under single-particle compression. With 273 citations on Google Scholar (30/10/2023), the paper has also been recognized as one of the top 1% highly cited papers in Engineering by the Web of Science.
