Visit of Subject Extern Examiner, Professor Eleni Chatzi to the UCD School of Civil Engineering

The School of Civil Engineering was delighted to welcome Professor Eleni Chatzi, Chair of Structural Mechanics & Monitoring, ETH Zürich, on Friday 28 th June.
Professor Chatzi is the Subject Extern Examiner for the School, and this was the first of her visits in this capacity. She met with faculty members, and students on our undergraduate and taught graduate programmes.

We are grateful to Professor Chatzi for taking the time during her short visit to make a presentation on her research in the field of physics-enhanced modelling, entitled Physics as an enhancement for interpretable and generalizable learning in Monitoring & Twinning. This very interesting talk was attended by faculty, Post Doctoral Researchers, and PhD students.
