Irish Delegation Led by Minister Jack Chambers Attends TRB 2024 in Washington DC
Thursday, 29 February, 2024
Dr. Beatriz Martinez-Pastor joined the Irish delegation that attended TRB in January 2024. As the coordinator of the Horizon Europe project aimed at supporting the preparation for the upcoming TRA 2024, Dr. Martinez-Pastor was part of the Irish delegation promoting the TRA2024 conference, scheduled to take place in Dublin in April 2024. The aim was to establish new connections and collaborations with the American event.
The Irish delegation, spearheaded by Minister Jack Chambers, proudly attended the Transport Research Board (TRB) 2024 conference held in Washington DC from January 5th to 9th, 2024. This event, a cornerstone of the transportation research community, provided an invaluable platform for international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Minister Jack Chambers led the delegation with distinction, enhancing the promotion of TRA2024 through his active engagement and insightful contributions. Accompanying him were esteemed members from various sectors, including the Department of Transport and Transport Infrastructure Ireland. Notable figures among them were Garret Doocey, Assistant Secretary, and representatives from Transport Infrastructure Ireland such as Helen Hughes Director Professional Services, Rachel Cahill, Director Chief Executive Office, and Pat Maher, Director Network Management among others.
Furthermore, the Irish Embassy in Washington DC graciously hosted a welcoming reception for the delegates, fostering an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie amongst attendees.
The participation of the Irish delegation at TRB 2024 reflects Ireland's commitment to advancing transportation research and fostering international partnerships. As we look forward to the TRA2024 conference in Dublin, we anticipate continued collaboration and innovation in the field of transportation.
