The Connected_Politics lab is delighted to invite you to the inaugural lab seminar jointly organised with the School of Politics and International Relations. Prof. Gijs Schumacher (University of Amsterdam) will present his current work on how politicians use emotion to appeal to voters. Gijs Schumacher is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. He is interested in political strategy, personality, populism and emotions. He works with large-scale automated text analysis applications, and experiments (including physiological measures). His work has appeared in journals such as the American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Political Analysis, PLOS One and Political Psychology.
