Constitutional law works-in-progress workshop
Constitutional law works-in-progress workshop
Another event returning to an in-person format this year is the Centre’s annual Constitutional Law Works-in-Progress workshop. The workshop will take place on 7 & 8 December 2023.
It is open to papers in the areas of constitutional law, constitutional politics or constitutional theory from any jurisdiction. Comparative papers are also welcome. The workshop will provide an opportunity for intensive reflection on the papers selected, as well as more general dialogue and discussion between scholars across these fields.
"Work in progress" means scholarship that has reached a stage at which it is substantial enough to merit serious discussion and critique but that has not yet appeared in print (and can still be revised after the workshop, if it has already been accepted for publication).
Submissions are limited to one paper per author and should be no more than 15,000 words in length. If the paper is longer than 15,000 words, please identify which portion of the paper you would like to be considered for discussion at the workshop. Submissions should include the subject line: “Constitutional Work-in-Progress workshop submission”.
Interested authors should submit a paper to Eoin Carolan at (opens in a new window)eoin.carolan@ucd.ie by not later than 6 September 2023.
Authors will be informed of selection by 6 October 2023 at the latest.
The workshop is sponsored by the Centre for Constitutional Studies which will cover the cost of participation, group meals and accommodation for up to 2 nights for participants. Accepted applicants will be required to bear their own travel costs. There may be a limited number of bursaries available to cover a portion of travel costs. If you would like to be considered for a travel bursary, please indicate this in your email at the time of submission.
