UCD is a European leader in Data Analytics and Connected Health. Nationally we host flagship collaborative programmes under Science Foundation Ireland’s Research Centres programmes and Enterprise Ireland/IDA’s Technology Centre programme. We work with industry partners to develop projects within these programmes and under separate funding streams from the European Commission, Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Research Council, the Health Research Board and others.

We are looking to recruit a Research Engineer to start immediately on multiple research projects in the areas of data analytics, data processing and recommender systems. This is a temporary 24-months position to cover the needs of the group and contribute to the research and development tasks for the projects. The successful candidate will be part of the Recommender Systems group of Insight Centre for Data Analytics, contributing to the research projects of the group for the designing and developing of Machine Learning-based tools for data analytics and recommender systems, with emphasis on distributed and decentralized architectures. The candidate is expected to play a leading role in the development of Machine Learning based tools for data processing and data analytics, working together with the rest of the group members to meet the requirements of the projects.

The projects will require close collaboration with industry partners and other research institutes across the EU. The projects may also require travelling and participation in dissemination events.
