UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 # 013868

UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1

Position Summary

Testing is a crucial part of any software development process, but it is difficult to know how effective tests are. Mutation analysis is a test quality indicator that involves introducing artificial defects into programs before checking that the tests can detect them. One of the main problems with classic mutation analysis is that it focuses on simple artificial defects, while today’s software systems have become complex.

The School of Computer Science at UCD is looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on mutation analysis, especially higher order mutants. The successful candidate will, under the direction of the PI, help lead research work, setting a research agenda, guiding and tutoring PhD candidates and students.

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

We welcome applications from everyone, including those who identify with any of the protected characteristics that are setout in our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy.
