What we do

The Centre for Sustainable Development focuses on:
a) advancing interdisciplinary research on the SDGs and sustainability challenges;
b) supporting evidence-based policy at local, national and global levels;
c) building capacity through education, partnerships and public engagement.

We draw on UCD’s leadership in the creation of the SDGs and its current position as Ireland’s top-ranked university for sustainability. With special consultative status at the UN Economic and Social Council, we actively contribute to shaping sustainability policies worldwide.

Our aim is to turn research into real-world impact—through policy, innovation, and by supporting a new generation of sustainability leaders.
