About the Centre
The aim of the Centre for Translational Pain Research is to enhance the scientific understanding of pain from the basic sciences through to the population level.
The Centre is located in the Schools of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science, Medicine, and Mathematics and Statistics in University College Dublin.
The group of researchers will approach this shared objective from their professional perspective be it disease prevention, biological processes or rehabilitation by designing, leading and conducting a sustainable programme of multidisciplinary research that will ultimately lead to improved patient outcomes, and better models of health service delivery.
Who We Are
The Centre for Translational Pain Research (CTPR) comprises a multidisciplinary team of academic, clinical and basic science researchers that support translational basic and applied pain research by designing, leading and conducting sustainable programmes of multidisciplinary research.
What We Do
The Centre for Translational Pain Research (CTPR) comprises a multidisciplinary team of five academic, clinical and basic science researchers that support translational basic and applied pain research by designing, leading and conducting sustainable programmes of multidisciplinary research.
Research undertaken by the CTPR will improve our scientific understanding of pain from the basic sciences through to the population level.
The Centre has two primary activities:
- clinical translational research and
- knowledge translation.
