DEI/CHR PhD Masterclass with the Director of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency

The DEI with the UCD Centre for Human Rights was delighted to welcome the Director of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency, Michael O’Flaherty who is an alumnus of the UCD Sutherland School of Law. He gave a masterclass to a group of PhD students who came from four Dublin universities (UCD, DCU, TCD and TUD) and came from a range of disciplines (computer science, law, politics, social policy).  All students provided an outline of their own work before the masterclass and the Law School provided teas coffees and lunch to allow for some networking after the class. The Director reflected on how human rights had developed since he was first an undergraduate mapping major shifts in discourse and practices across the world before a lively discussion ensued with the participants.
