John Carey is announced as the 2018 UCD Alumni Award Winner in Engineering & Architecture

Thank you to all the Schools and individuals who submitted a nomination this year. The competition was strong across all 10 categories and John Carey was chosen as the Engineering and Architecture awardee. John was presented with this prestigious award at the Alumni Awards Ceremony in the O’Reilly Hall, 9 November 2018.
John Carey is passionate about creating an inclusive and diverse organisation, which puts safety and the customer at the heart of the business, having graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1983 and has built his career leading a number of global businesses.
He has lived and leads businesses in Europe, Africa and the USA and has a unique skillset in transforming and growing businesses in highly complex and turbulent environments. Most recently, as Deputy CEO of ADNOC Distribution in Abu Dhabi, John has led their recent IPO; the largest international IPO in the Middle East in over a decade. John is a Trustee of the autism charity, Autistica.
