Thursday October 14, 2021 16:00-18:00 online
You are invited to the launch of our publication: Inclusive Teaching & Learning Case Studies in Engineering, Architecture & Affiliated Disciplines. This publication is the first output from the Inclusive Teaching Pilot carried out collaboratively across the College of Engineering and Architecture. This pilot, an outcome from our Athena Swan process, has seen the development of inclusive teaching and learning principles for our disciplines through the work of many colleagues. At this event you’ll hear from the authors of our first set of case studies and also have the opportunity to hear from Professor Stephanie Farrell on inclusive pedagogy in Engineering.
Dr Farrell is Dean and Professor and Founding Chair of Experiential Engineering Education Department in the Henry M. Rowan College at Rowan University (USA). She is the immediate past president of ASEE. Dr. Farrell has contributed to engineering education through her work in inductive pedagogy, spatial skills, and inclusion and diversity. She has been honoured by the American Society of Engineering Education with several teaching awards such as the 2004 National Outstanding Teaching Medal and the 2005 Quinn Award for experiential learning, and she was 2014-15 Fulbright Scholar in Engineering Education at Dublin Institute of Technology (Ireland).
