CEA Strategy for Research, Innovation & Impact Launch Event
The launch event for the CEA Strategy for Research, Innovation & Impact 2025-30, entitled ‘Engineering a Sustainable Future’ took place, in-person, on Thursday 30th January 2025 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The event started with welcome and opening remarks by Prof Aoife Ahern, College Principal, who outlined the College’s Vision and Mission Statements, which are anchored to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the strategy development process.
Prof Aoife Gowen, College VPRII, then presented a brief overview of the strategy, including the objective, key actions and KPIs for each of its five strategic areas of Reputation / Impact; Infrastructure; Collaboration; Culture; and Innovation.
The CEA Publications Wall of Frames was also highlighted during the CEA strategy launch event as four authors with papers currently presented on the Wall each shared some words about their work, the story behind the paper and its impact – speakers included Dr Emer Doheny, EEE; Dr Abdollah Malekjafarian, CE; Dr Eoin Syron, CBE; and Prof Donal Finn, MME.
The event was attended by over 70 people from within the College and from units across the university including UCD President’s Office and UCD Research. The CEA Strategy for Research, Innovation & Impact 2025-30 which has the title of ‘Engineering a Sustainable Future’ is available here.
