UCD College of Engineering & Architecture hosts several (opens in a new window)European Research Council (ERC) Grant Awardees all of whom are listed below.
The ERC is amongst the most prestigious and competitive EU funding schemes to support frontier research, providing researchers with the opportunity to pursue ambitious, curiosity-driven projects that could lead to major scientific breakthroughs.
ERC Advanced Grants award funding of up to €2.5 million for a period of 5 years to established, leading researchers with a proven track-record of significant research achievements over the past decade. This funding enables researchers to explore their most innovative and ambitious ideas.
ERC Consolidator Grants award funding of up to €2 million for a period of 5 years to researchers with 7-12 years of experience since completion of PhD, with a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal. This funding enables researchers to consolidate their independence by establishing / consolidating a research team and continuing to develop a successful career in Europe.
ERC Starter Grants award funding of up to €1.5 million for a period of 5 years to researchers with 2-7 years of experience since completion of PhD, who have a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal.
Proof-of-Concept awards provide a lump sum of €150,000 for a period of 18 months to researchers who already have an ERC award, to establish proof of concept of an idea that was generated during their ERC-funded projects.
