MESSAGE: the Marine & Energy Social Sciences & Humanities Interdisciplinary Research Group is an interdisciplinary research group hosted by the UCD Earth Institute, carrying out fundamental research with a particular focus on coastal, marine and renewable energy challenges. During this week's coffee morning, several MESSAGE researchers will share insights from their ongoing work. Dr. George Hoppit (UCD SBES) will talk about the Blue4All project, bringing together bottom-up and top-down approaches to Marine Protected Area management. Dr. Saule Akhmetkaliyeva (UCD SBES) will discuss the BlueC project, adopting an interdisciplinary approach to the study of coastal blue carbon ecosystems. Finally, Samantha Tobiáš (UCD Archaeology) will discuss her PhD research on climate change vulnerability of cultural landscapes and intangible heritage, focusing on the case study of Connemara.
